Join us in the fight against period poverty!

Period Poverty Action Projects by MTM, supported by the Huris Foundation in Kenya, is making a significant impact on the lives of girls and women in the Pate Islands of Lamu, Kenya.

In these beautiful but underserved communities, families often face the difficult choice between putting food on the table and buying sanitary pads for their girls.

Our initiative, born in the UK in July 2021, is dedicated to creating awareness, educating, and providing essential menstrual hygiene support.

We’ve partnered with the Huris Foundation, a local organisation in Mombasa, Kenya, whose project-director Maryam Abubakar is passionate about helping those in need in Lamu County and the coast region of Kenya.

Together, we’re reaching out to schools in engaging with girls to discuss vital topics like puberty, hygiene, and gender-based violence.
